Glendale Library, Arts and Culture and ReflectSpace Gallery are proud to present As the Earth Wanes: Considering Climate Change, an exhibition designed to reflect on the effects of global warming and climate change on our planet. To create greater awareness about climate change and generate critical conversations toward a greener and more sustainable future, several artists shed light on the current state of our planet.

"Impending Storms" will put a spotlight on the reality of the impending dangers of significant loss of species and biodiversity, and by inference, the dangers looming over our biosphere. Many drawings depicting impressions of plant and animal species will be “captured” in the net. Visitors to the installation would walk through and around the net and other components of the installation, creating an experiential environment to consider problems related to species decline and environmental issues.

Brand Library & Art Center presents Mapping The Sublime: Reframing Landscape in the 21st Century, opening April 2 – June 11, 2022. LA based artists Lawrence Gipe and Beth Davila Waldman organized this survey of 19 diverse artists that challenge our culture’s entrenched conceptions regarding landscape, critically re-examining the genre as a mediated view of nature and a construction of centuries of aesthetic processing, demarcation and colonial expansion.
Adams Square Exhibits : Mer Tun, Dzer Tun

Mer Tun, Dzer Tun translates to “our home, your home” in Armenian. This installation seeks to reclaim and honor history, while laying testament to the resilience of indigenous peoples robbed of homeland everywhere. The Armenian diaspora community quilt features artwork from Glendale residents, as well as Armenians from 20 American cities and 4 cities internationally, reflecting on what "home" means to them.
This temporary art installation is generously sponsored by the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission through funding from the Urban Art Program, with support from Glendale Library, Arts & Culture, Glendale Community Services and Parks, and the Adams Hill Neighborhood Association.

Adams Square Exhibits : Everything is Connected

"Everything is Connected" is a site specific installation consisting of various gigantic origami forms. These forms will vary in size and shape constructed of white butcher paper and massive photographic prints with metal accents. This installation expresses the importance of change, especially in light of the recent pandemic. Repetitive gestures transform the expansive material into a complex form. The goal is to inspire others to realize that small actions can build into glorious transformations.

Brand 50: Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper

The Associates of Brand Library & Art Center in Glendale, California announces its 50th Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper celebrating not only the artists chosen this year, but the many who have been featured in the past 50 years. This years juror is Shannon Currie Holmes. For the past 15 years, Shannon has been producing events designed to connect people through the exploration of art. She developed several ground-breaking public art projects including Satellite Galleries and Street Box Art. Cash awards total over $4,000 including a Juror’s Award. All accepted artworks will be included in a show at the Brand Gallery and in both printed and online exhibition catalogs.
Media: Any artwork on or of paper, including collages, drawings, paintings, photography, prints, and 3-dimensional works. Paper must be a visible component of the artwork. Eligibility: Participation is open to artists residing in the United States.
Art Happens Anywhere: Meter Pole Art

Meter Pole Art" is a project that brings pop-up artworks to be wrapped around parking meter poles in Glendale. The artworks feature over 6 designs intended to expand public art in Glendale.

Hollywood Actress Sarah Ramos (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, Parenthood) and The THNK1994 Museum are pleased to announce Autograph Hound — a multimedia exhibition exploring the intersection of fandom and fame. On display during the month-long exhibition will be photographs, artifacts, and installations from several series by Sarah Ramos including Autograph Hound, Quaranscenes, Successica, illustrated portraits of her fellow Parenthood cast members, and more. Join them for the opening night April 8th from 7pm-10pm for drinks and a special screening at 8:30pm of Children’s Television Sausage Factory, a mysteriously rejected Disney+ pilot presentation, directed by and starring Sarah, Dylan O’Brien, and Brittany Snow, which brings Hanson fanfiction to life.
Fellow Autograph Hounds are invited to submit their own pictures with celebrities to info@thnk1994.com for inclusion in the exhibit.
Thinkspace Projects: Art Openings

The Thinkspace gallery opens four solo shows in which hope and optimism run through many of the works. Tacit Turnabout: Casey Weldon is a testament to the persistence of the creative spirit. Parking Lot Carnival: Brian “Dovie” Golden explores the artist’s perseverance over grief after the loss of his son. The World Within: Toco-Oco is a series of whimsical sculptures from a Brazilian husband and wife team (Lara Alcântara and Guilherme Neumann) that tickles the profundity of human experience. High Fructose: Carlos Ramirez combines familiar pop iconography and corporate logos with figures from comics, folklore and Catholicism. The opening reception is Saturday, April 2 from 6 to 10 p.m.
Print Pomona Art Book Fair (PPABF)

The Benton Museum of Art at Pomona College and The Arts Area are pleased to present the very first Print Pomona Art Book Fair (PPABF) on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3 at Pomona College’s Edmunds Ballroom in the Smith Campus Center. PPABF will bring more than 50 national and international publishers to the Pomona College campus for the first time, where they will be exhibiting artists’ books, art catalogues, photography monographs, drawings, zines, and other print material. The fair, which is free and open to the public, runs from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturday, April 2, and from 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday, April 3.

For the past 30 years, we have been celebrating the imagination, tenacity, and accomplishments of film costume designers and their teams who bring movie characters to life. Fan favorites, including selections from all five Academy Award® nominees for Costume Design, will be on display for visitors to enjoy in detail. With over twenty films represented from a variety of genres and studios, come and experience the exhibition which has become a tradition for LA locals and movie lovers alike.
