Glendale Remembers: The Memory Lab is to honor and commemorate the diverse cultural heritage of our community by preserving it. The Memory Lab is here to help facilitate the documentation of your stories with tools to help you record or digitize recordings and photos you may already have. These resources are available at the Central Library for checkout, or for self-use in the Makerspace.
The Memory Lab was supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.

Memory Lab FAQ’s

There are two options for you to access the Memory Lab, come in during open hours (Tue - Thurs 12 PM- 8 PM , Friday and Saturday 10 AM - 5 PM), a staff member can assist you in showing you how to use the lab. You can also use the equipment at home by checking out the devices you need. Each device checks out for 3 weeks, and is not renewable.

You will need to bring the materials you want to digitize, and any hardware that we do not provide. We do not provide SD cards or thumb drives. Some devices require these to function, you will need to supply your own. See above for which devices require you to bring your own storage, and the estimated amount of storage needed for your project.

The Memory Lab is a do it yourself space. Staff are available to answer questions and help troubleshoot technical issues, but we are unable to digitize for you.
